This new 31-story, 246-room hotel opens for stays in Downtown Austin on February 1. It’s located steps from the Texas Capitol, next to the historic Paramount Theater and right in the middle of the action. The interior evokes a modern, bohemian-style gallery, with an extensive art collection, so keep your head up as you explore the property. The highly anticipated Luminaire restaurant comes from perennial James Beard nominee Steve McHugh, who’s created a menu featuring charcuterie and seasonal Texas fare. And the eighth-floor bar, Las Bis, sports a comfortable terrace with views of the Austin skyline, plus a small menu of conservas, cocktails and natural and biodynamic wines.
